Paslode's
New Positive Placement System®
More Durable, Powerful & Easier to Operate
To
meet more stringent building codes both residential
and commercial buildings are increasingly being reinforced
with metal hardware to enhance the structural integrity
of wood-to-wood construction, especially in high wind,
hurricane and earthquake prone regions of the country.
In
response, Paslode offers a newly engineered, ergonomically
designed nailer that provides for improved performance,
speed, durability, lighter weight and balance for installing
metal hardware.
The
Positive Placement® Fastening System, model F250S-PP,
allows for easy and accurate placement of fasteners
in a variety of metal hardware applications including
joist hangers, framing anchor and clips, seismic and
hurricane ties and hold downs.
The
System incorporates several unique, state-of-the-art
features, highlighted by a durable, ¾" hardened
probe that accurately locates metal hardware while guiding
the fastener as it is driven, for "positive placement"
of every nail, every time. Additionally, an adjustable
work contact element controls depth of drive on the
tool to ensure proper nail penetration and minimize
dimpling of the metal hardware.
Other
significant features are a Smart Lever that automatically
adjusts to either 1-1/2" or 2-1/2" nail length
to eliminate tool damage resulting from incorrect nail
selection, an over molded grip for enhanced comfort
in all types of weather, and a tool-less, quick-clear
magazine that clears infrequent jams in seconds.
"The
Positive Placement System is at least three times faster
than hand nailing, providing increased productivity
on the job site and reduced labor costs," said
Chris Mettler, Paslode market manager. "Our engineers
have taken the preferred tool in the industry and made
it more durable, more powerful and easier to operate
with fewer parts."
The
Positive Placement tool weighs a mere 8.5lbs., and has
a magazine capacity of 44 to 48 ICBO recognized, full
load value fasteners ranging from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 inches
in length and .131, .148 and .162 in nail diameter.
The new tool has extended part life, and replacement
parts (probe, driver-blade) cost less than the previous
model.
With
more than twelve years of field-proven experience in
the metal connector market, the Positive Placement System
has been code recognized by the City of Los Angeles
(Report No. 25259), the California Division of the State
Architect (PA-060), as well as the ICBO (Report No.
5179). Positive Placement nails also meet Simpson Strong-Tie®
and USP® Connectors specifications.
The
Positive Placement tool, model F250S-PP is now nationally
available at a suggested retail price of $369.00.
