Title: Territory
Sales Representative
(Washington
D.C.)

has recently been named one of America's most admired companies by a prominent
business publication. We are looking for a Territory Sales Representative
at one of our leading divisions, Paslode. Paslode is an industry leading
manufacturer of cordless and pneumatic fastening systems for new home
construction and remodeling applications. The position will be based out
of our Baltimore Focus Market. Candidates will reside in the D.C. or Northern
Virginia area (Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, or Prince William counties).
The Territory Sales
Representative position utilizes Trade Focus selling skills to create
demand for the Paslode brand at the end-user level. This includes on-site
framing contractors and “80” small professional contractors. Works as
part of the Territory team to meet and exceed profitable sales and earnings
objectives. Develops and implements basic distributor and direct dealer
plans to support territory objectives. Use of basic selling skills to
develop and maintain good business relationships with distributor and
direct dealers and their key customers.
Primary responsibilities
include:
- Working with the
Territory manager, assists in developing on-going/continuous market
analysis of the territory by obtaining intelligence through multiple
sources such as customers and Paslode Trade Focus. Uses territory Trade
Focus selling process efforts, with aggressive end-user work, to create
demand and pull through of Paslode products. Creates basic distributor
plans. Implements national and regional strategies within the territory.
- Exhibiting basic
selling skills abilities by effectively handling objections, through
negotiations and presentations, managing channel conflict, and resolving
customer issues fairly and timely. Works at a basic level, developing
and recommending solutions, uses basic Paslode and competitive product
knowledge.
- Achieving annual
territory revenue and margin plans. Recommends pricing and promotional
programs with adequate support data to Territory manager. Implements
pricing and promotional programs at an effective level across the territory
for maximum benefit to Paslode.
- Establishing and
maintaining contact with the management of existing and potential contractors
and distributors within the territory. Works with distributor and dealer
sales personnel to build Paslode product knowledge and implement Paslode
programs/promotions.
- Develops distributor
plans jointly with customers that coordinate and support the Paslode
territory plan. Measure and monitor the effectiveness of all programs
implemented and managed in the territoryInitiates and coordinates dealer
events with Retail Sales Specialists to build end-user demand and channel
loyalty on a on-going and regular basis.
- Builds credibility
within Paslode and Territory Team as well as with external stakeholders
by using good verbal and written communication skills. Is accountable
for plans and actions that build the Paslode brand within the territory.
Proactively provides feedback and recommendations to territory manager,
and to other Paslode functions such as Marketing, and Distribution.
Develops/begins collaboration with these functions to coordinate with
territory selling plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
required
- Minimum of 3-4
years selling experience within a related field
- Ability to reside
south of Washington, DC / Northern Virginia
- Fluent in English
and Spanish (desirable)
- Proficiency in
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Proven written
and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational
and planning abilities are essential.
- Good driving record
This position includes
heavy focus sales calls to residential constructions sites, distributor
store/warehouse locations and dealer stores. Works independently out of
a home office.
The employee must
possess the ability to operate and demonstrate pneumatic and Cordless
tools to end-users on residential construction sites, occasionally lift
and/or move items up to 40 pounds, physically maneuver around and operate
on a residential construction site and be able to sit for extended periods
of time while driving throughout the territory. The employee will be required
to attend trade shows and as such will handle and set up items such as
displays, tents, tools and air compressors.
